At the age of 7 Indiana immigrated to the United States from Managua, Nicaragua. She arrived with her parents in the United States not speaking a word of English. Her parents were required to work for minimum wage at two jobs just for the basic necessities of life. Indiana learned to achieve success in life you have to work for it. She started working at age 14. Her first job was at an ice cream store. Indiana Sanchez started modeling at age 18. She signed up with MC2 Miami modeling agency and started working as a model. At age 20 Indiana decided to compete for Miss Nicaragua, she won Miss Nicaragua 2009. She competed for Miss Universe in 2009 and placed in the top 20, while ranking 2nd in the national costume contest. As Miss Nicaragua, Indiana worked with various non-profit organizations such as Pipitos in Nicaragua, Operation Smiles, and Cohen Foundation and Miami Children’sHospital helped them create awareness of their causes. Indiana has an extensive modeling career. She had worked in the Grammys, Super bowl, Miami Fashion week, and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York. For many years she worked as a model for Univision modeling in shows such as “Sabado Gigante” Republica Deportiva” and in one of the most viewed shows called “Despierta America”.
Indiana Sanchez sees herself as a Philanthropist at heart. She is the founder of IS Proof Foundation; a 501 (c) 3 organization founded in 2012, with a mission to provide free tutoring to children of lowincome families. Indiana’s educational background includes a degree in Business Administration from Barry University. She is completing her Masters in Healthcare Administration at Florida International University. She also took courses at Harvard University.
In addition, Indiana is a real estate investor investing and developing properties in Miami.
She’s has built a career in healthcare mergers. Recently she participated in a multimillion dollar merger for one of the leading medical services providers to Federal prisons. Having been an immigrant, and now being a U.S. citizen Indiana values the right to vote. Based on statistics Indiana’s concern is that so many low income families have not exercised their right to vote; so she has founded Make It Count Vote Now. This venture will register more than one million voters in 2016 by a unique marketing tool reaching out to the top one million companies in the United States, and motivating them to participate in registering their employees to make their vote count on a non-partisan basis.
